1. What is TrustMyAge?
TrustMyAge is a secure and fast age-verification system that respects your privacy. It uses your email address and a short video selfie with liveness detection, analysed by artificial intelligence, to confirm that you are a real person and determine whether you can be considered an adult. You don’t need to create accounts or share more information than necessary.
2. Why do I have to verify my age?
Because some websites and apps are legally required to confirm that users accessing certain content are adults. TrustMyAge allows this verification to be done anonymously and safely, without exposing your identity and without the site you're visiting receiving any personal data.
3. How does the verification work?
The process has two steps: first you enter your email address and we send you a code to confirm it's yours. Then you record a short video selfie with liveness detection. Artificial intelligence analyses the video and determines whether you can be considered an adult. If the system cannot determine this with certainty, it may request an official identity document issued by your country (for example, a national ID card or a passport) for an exceptional manual review by a specialised technician.
4. Are the verifications done by a machine or a person?
The initial analysis is performed automatically by artificial intelligence specialised in liveness detection and facial assessment. In most cases, verification is completed without human intervention. Only if the AI cannot determine the age with enough confidence will an official identity document be requested and reviewed confidentially by a qualified technician. Neither the video nor the documents are ever stored permanently.
5. What happens to my selfie or video?
The video selfie is used exclusively during the verification process. Once the system —or, in rare cases, a technician— has completed the evaluation, the video is deleted immediately and irreversibly. It is not used to train AI models, not reused, not shared with third parties, and not stored permanently.
6. What if I'm asked for an identity document?
An official identity document from your country is only requested when the artificial intelligence cannot safely determine whether you are an adult. That document is reviewed manually by a specialised technician and deleted as soon as the verification is processed. No copy is kept, it is not used for any other purpose, and it is never shared.
7. Do you store my email address?
We do not store your email in plain text. We generate a technical fingerprint (irreversible hash) used only to know whether that email has already completed an age verification and what the result was. This fingerprint cannot be used to reconstruct your real email or identify you. We use your email only momentarily to send the verification code.
8. How long does the process take?
Verification is usually completed in under a minute. The AI analysis is almost instantaneous. If a document is required because the age cannot be determined, a specialised technician will review it manually, and it is normally resolved very quickly.
9. Do I have to verify myself every time?
Not usually. Once an email has been verified, you only need to enter it again and confirm a code to recover your status (adult/minor). Only in exceptional cases will you be asked to repeat the video selfie or provide additional documentation, such as after many months or if legal requirements change.
10. How much does verification cost?
For you as a user, verification is completely free. TrustMyAge never makes charges or holds in your name.
11. Who can see the result of my verification?
Only the website or app that requested the verification, and only through a technical token. All they receive is a response: “adult” or “minor”. They do not receive your selfie, your video, your documents, your email, or any personal information.
12. What data does TrustMyAge store and for how long?
TrustMyAge immediately deletes all selfies, videos and official documents as soon as the verification has been processed. They are not used to train AI or for any purpose other than the one-time analysis. Only a technical fingerprint (hash) of your email and the associated verification status is kept, along with minimal anti-fraud records. This data cannot identify you directly and is stored only for the strictly necessary time.
